Qualitative Results

Crystal-clear water and high impact water loss reduction and chemical savings.

Beyond the line-item savings, the operational story changed. Procedures the property considered routine simply stopped being necessary.

Crystal-clear, softer water

Engineering reports clearer, cleaner, softer water across pools and spas — a noticeably better guest experience without additional chemistry.

No more shut-down / drain / refill / reheat cycles

Prior to AquaRev, hot tubs were regularly taken offline to be drained, cleaned, refilled, and reheated due to water conditions or guest complaints. Post-install: that procedure was no longer necessary.

365

Year-round operation, no down-time

All pools and spas remained open and operating year-round — a meaningful uplift to revenue-generating amenity availability.

$0

Service-recovery comp eliminated

The Resort reported that service-recovery compensation issued to guests for pool/spa-related incidents was eliminated after install.

Overview

A Las Vegas hotel property seeking innovative solutions to enhance the quality of water conditions in its swimming pools and spas — and cut water and chemical use in a desert climate.

In 2023, AquaRev Water engineers were introduced to the engineering and management teams at Hilton Grand Vacations Club Paradise in Las Vegas. The property — operating commercial pools and spas in the high-evaporation Mojave climate — had three priorities the existing chemical-treatment infrastructure couldn't fully address:

  • Reduce water loss and replacement-water demand in a desert market with rising water-scarcity pressure
  • Cut pool chemical consumption (liquid chlorine and muriatic acid) without compromising water quality
  • Improve guest-facing water clarity and reduce chemical odor at the pool and spa decks

After a technology review covering AquaRev's patents, laboratory data, and prior commercial-property performance, a structured 30-day pre / post pilot was approved on the property's Family Pool and Family Spa.

The Pilot

30-day measured pilot · two water bodies · independent third-party data capture.

The pilot was designed to produce defensible before/after results under real operating conditions, with daily measurement and chemical-use logging performed by an independent commercial pool service partner.

Pilot Assets
Family Pool + Family Spa — both representative property water bodies serving guests during the pilot.
Service Partner
Quality One Pool Management (Aquatic System Professionals) — captured daily pre- and post-install measurements using AquaRev's "HDC Pre and Post Data Collection" form.
Pilot Window
Pre-install: 14 measurement days in August 2023. Post-install: 14 measurement days from August 31 through September 19, 2023. Equivalent measurement-day windows enable apples-to-apples comparison; results are reported on a normalized 30-day basis.
Daily Measurements
Air temperature, weather, liquid-chlorine added (gal), muriatic acid added (gal), sodium bicarbonate added (lbs), water-meter reading, manual-fill amount, plus full chemistry: TCL, FCL, pH, ALK, calcium hardness, CYA.
Reported Results
Three measured reductions published as the headline AquaRev customer case study: 89% Water Loss · 41% Chlorine · 33% Acid — Family Pool basis.
Outcome
Validated reductions across both water bodies, with the Family Pool numbers landing on the published case study card.
30-Day Pilot Cost Variance — Family Pool

Immediate impact across every cost center — measured over a 30-day pre / post window.

Normalized 30-day pre vs. post-install cost per cost center for the Family Pool. Three measured reductions match the operator's published case study card exactly (89% water · 41% chlorine · 33% acid). Annualized savings shown beneath each card project the 30-day measured rate to a full year. Energy was not separately measured during this pilot.

30-day numbers are extrapolated from the operator's measured 14-day pre and 14-day post windows (× 30/14 normalization). Reductions are anchored to the operator's published case study card. Energy was not separately captured during the pilot and is intentionally excluded from this model. Family Spa results (chlorine −72%, acid −54%, water ~0%) are shown separately in the Forward-Looking section.
Pilot Pool Operational Model

$5,532 in modeled annual savings — on the Family Pool, before labor and chemical-handling upside.

Family Pool 30-day pilot results, normalized to the operator's published reductions and translated to dollars at current Las Vegas utility and chemical rates. Chemical line items use measured 14-day pre data (extrapolated × 30/14) at the published 41% / 33% reductions. Water uses the published 89% reduction at LVVWD commercial rates. Energy was not separately measured during the pilot and is excluded from this model.

+Additional upside not quantified in this model
  • Reduced chlorine smell at the pool deck — direct guest experience improvement
  • Crystal-clear, softer water — engineering reports clarity gains post-install
  • Less frequent drain / refill cycles required for water-quality reset
  • Reduced chemical handling, storage, and transport overhead
  • Lower equipment wear (pump, heater, filter media)
  • Sodium bicarbonate impact (post-install +47% with rain anomaly) excluded — operational data normalizes once weather effect passes

Combining the published Family Pool reductions (89% / 41% / 33%) with the operator's measured Family Spa reductions (72% chlorine, 54% acid, 0% water — spa hydraulics are dragout-dominated, not evaporation-dominated). Energy was not measured in this pilot and is excluded from these totals.

Per-Facility Year-1 Projection

Pool savings reflect published case study reductions (89% water · 41% chlorine · 33% acid). Spa savings reflect operator-measured reductions on the same 30-day window.

Spa water reduction is ~0% by operator note: "hot tub has more water loss to dragout/backwash than evaporation, not much noticeable difference" — AquaRev's water-saving benefit primarily affects evaporation-driven losses, which spas have less of relative to splash-out.

Plus unquantified upside — chemical-handling overhead, equipment wear, guest experience (no chlorine smell), and water-quality clarity. None of these are included in the $9,300 figure. No expanded deployments to other property facilities are assumed in these projections.
Methodology & sourcing

How the numbers were measured.

  • Pilot window: 14 measurement days pre-install (Aug 11–30, 2023) and 14 measurement days post-install (Aug 31 – Sep 19, 2023). Family Pool and Family Spa measured in parallel using AquaRev's "HDC Pre and Post Data Collection" form. 30-day numbers extrapolated × 30/14.
  • Independent data capture: all daily measurements taken on-site by Quality One Pool Management (Aquatic System Professionals), the property's commercial pool service partner.
  • Daily metrics: air temperature, weather, liquid chlorine added (gal), muriatic acid added (gal), sodium bicarbonate added (lbs), water-meter reading, manual fill amount, and full chemistry panel — TCL, FCL, pH, ALK, calcium hardness, CYA.
  • Headline reductions: 89% water · 41% chlorine · 33% acid — calculated using the operator's weekly-average comparison method on Family Pool data, validated and published as the official AquaRev customer case study card. Sodium bicarbonate excluded due to a documented rain-driven anomaly in the post window.
  • Las Vegas utility rate: water $4.50/1,000 gal (LVVWD commercial water + Clark County sewer, est. 2025) — to be verified against current published schedule at deployment.
  • Chemical pricing: $4/gal liquid chlorine (12.5%) and $6/gal muriatic acid (31%) — mid-range commercial pool-supply pricing for the Las Vegas market, to be reconciled to property's invoiced unit prices.
  • Validation: three published reductions appear on AquaRev's official Hilton Grand Vacations Club Paradise customer case study card.
